There are several topics I want to cover on the Afternoon Grind. My goal is to open up about what I’m thinking when it comes to life and to work. I’m a pretty quiet person, some might say reserved, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to share.
When it comes to health, I’m more than happy and willing to share my thoughts and mindset. I’m not going to bore you with my entire health history, past diets and workout programs. I want to share what I’m doing now to stay ahead of the aging game.
There are two main topics that make up this section. The first one will focus on the diet and the second is all about exercise. Together these can equal a healthy lifestyle.

Looking at the Diet
Diet is probably the most important thing when it comes to healthy living. You can’t out-exercise a bad diet. There is so much information out there, most of it contradictory, most of it confusing. Eat this, don’t eat that. Technology has basically changed the way humans eat.
The most important thing to remember is the 80-20 rule. Diets are a pain in the butt. Eat healthy 80% of the time and only indulge 20% of the time. Over the course of my sharing, I will try to explain what I mean by this. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist or have any medical training, I just know what has worked for me and may work for you. Everyone is different, so keep that in mind. I still have a ton of learning to do.
The Workout Program
Some people love to exercise while others can’t stand it. If you think about it as humans, we are meant to move and move a lot. So, if we just sit around on our phones or other devices, what do you think will happen. As I’ve gotten older, working out has become so much more about the brain than the body.
With everything said on this site, you better believe I eat my fair share of crap, drink my fair share of alcohol and make a ton of bad health decisions. This also means I don’t make these mistakes on a regular basis. Moderation is the GOAL.
