New Platform New Problems? I’m not sure.
I’m not blaming Tradestation just yet but it is one of the suspects. As of yesterday, I’ve switched over to Tradestation full time. I have both a Cash account and a ROTH account that I’m using. Not to go into great detail but yesterday I had a couple of application crashes. I spoke to support and was told it may be corrupted. So, I reinstalled the application and rebuilt my workspace. Today, no crashes. However, there were 5-7 small events that caused the platform to lag-freeze. It would sit still for about 8 seconds before coming back with a thrust of data. I’m starting to think my router is the cause. TDB. Day trading is hard enough.
Let me get into the trading. Although I spoke about the platform issues, the trades taken today were great. In fact, this was my biggest day since I started the trading course.
Trades Taken
TSLA was the first trade of the day and while I took some minor losses on others, I did make a nice trade later in the afternoon. I had an opening red to green trade and an inflection point trade that worked in my favor. TSLA was a bit choppy today so that didn’t help.
TSLA Profit and Loss = $64.57
I heard about APT in the room and took this trade since I liked the chart. I was dealing with how to issues on the new platform so for safety I entered the trade and got out full lots after it made a nice pop. I actually don’t think I could’ve gotten much more.
APT Profit and Loss = $25.38
I was watching XRF setup on a nice red to green trade early this morning. It was a nice break. I actually got out way too early on this one. It ran another .30 soon after I got out. It ended up dropping the rest of the day but I got my piece. This was a $3.00 stock.
XRF Profit and Loss = $41.00
Probably the best stock of the day was BYND. This thing had legs throughout the day. Although I got jumped on some entries I was able to catch a few more. The end of the day trade put me past my best day total.
BYND Profit and Loss = $116.60
TGTX had a lot of potential on the opening range breakout. I was watching it closely and it did make me miss the best trade of the day. However, I caught a nice winner and it did end up going another point without me. One day I will hold longer.
TGTX Profit and Loss = $54.09
I traded a few other stocks today but they aren’t worth mentioning. Small gains or minimal losses. In fact, my losses totaled $50.30, but they mainly happened on the stocks above.
Trades Missed
I was watching CARS setup but it was really like watching paint dry and I saw the price heading where I wanted it to go on TSLA. Soon after I switched CARS ran two points in my favor without looking back. BIG MISS.
It was a great trading day. Although the markets ended up being down there were plenty of trades to be had. As you read above I traded a few stocks several times. This is because it was setting up this way today. I probably could have made several more trades today but I was keeping it tight with the new platform and some of the issues I’ve been having. I look forward to trading tomorrow.
